Christian Counseling of Mansfield falls very closely in line with the philosophy of counseling held to by the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC, formerly known as NANC).

SCRIPTURE
One of our foundational principles is that we believe that Scripture is sufficient to equip us to deal with all matters pertaining to life and godliness, and that man's greatest need is to be reconciled to God through the sacrifice that Jesus Christ offered on mankind's behalf when He went to the cross. We believe this reconciliation involves man's repentance of his sin, and by faith believing that what Christ did on the cross satisfied the payment for sin, which was death. God accepted His death as payment for our sin, but we must individually accept Christ's offering for ourselves. When we do, then we become new creations and we are now able to live lives that are pleasing to God as we become obedient to His Word, the Bible.
sanctification
We believe that this "new birth" initiates what is referred to as the process of "sanctification". This is the process by which we begin to obey what God has revealed to us in Scripture so that we are being "conformed to the image of Christ"(Romans 8:29) in our character and in our conduct. This process begins as we purpose in our hearts to become obedient to what God has communicated to us in Scripture. This heart transformation results in outward change as we put on the new man and put off the old.
